On Monday, April 25th, 2016, WIck's will be giving 10% of the total day's sales to The Arrow Fund, an organization dedicated to providing medical treatment to Kentuckiana animals who have been victims of torture or extreme forms of abuse and neglect. By highlighting these cases, we strive to educate the public regarding the ongoing problem of animal cruelty and the need to strengthen animal welfare laws.
We all see the ads on TV with the emaciated, tortured animals and if you are anything like me, it stirs up enough emotion that it makes you want to turn the channel. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "I just can't watch those commercials," from my friends. Those are the types of animals that this group helps. But one thing that inspired me to become a volunteer when I first went to their website is that they actually show pictures of the animals once they've gotten medical treatment and have been nursed back to help.
If you don't know, Kentucky is the very worst state in the entire USA for animal welfare laws. So not only does The Arrow Fund nurse these animals back to health, but they work with the authorities and provides them with the evidence they need to help prosecute the offenders, AND they lobby for better animal rights laws. This is an absolutely amazing organization and they can truly use any help they can get. Click here for more information about The Arrow Fund. To get involved as a volunteer, click here. Or just stop by Wick's on the 25th and every dollar you spend will help The Arrow Fund. Can't make it to the Give Back Day? Click here to donate to this great cause.
