Junction Creek
Phil started playing drums when he was about 9 years old. He would wake the neighbors up every morning after his parents would leave for work. Phil’s first band, Risky Business, started in the mid 80’s. They played local festivals and clubs around the area. Phil then joined the band Pure South in the late 90’s. They were a very successful Louisville area band. Pure South opened for national acts such as The Wilkinson’s, Neil McCoy, Kevin Sharp and much more. Phil and a few other talented musicians later started the band 65 South. Once again, 65 South toured the Louisville club circuit. They also opened for national acts such as Rodney Atkins, Diamond Rio, Kelly Pickler and many others. Phil then took a few years off from playing music to further his education where he obtained his Bachelor Degree and began a new career. In early 2010, Phil and Jamie Via talked about venturing out and starting a new band. They then hooked up with Bill Wiley and named the band JUNCTION CREEK. The guys soon hooked up with Tom Langford on the mixing board and singer/guitarist Greg Perkins. In the short period of time, the band has already had many accomplishments such as opening for national artist Jason Stergeon. Phil brings professionalism and experience that we appreciate. We are very lucky to have him banging on the drums and keeping us in rhythm.
